Since its inception, syllabus of the CLAT PG has been quite unsettled- Objectives, Subjectives and mix of both. But, from 2015 onwards, Syllabus for CLAT PG is finalised with fixed 6 subjects and One subject which changes every year. Jurisprudence, Constitution, Contract, Tort, International Law, Criminal Law are generally the parts of fixed 6 subjects.

This time, NUALS, KOCHI will conduct the CLAT PG 2018 among 19 National Law Universities. CLAT PG is an exam of 150 marks with .25 negative marking within the duration of 2 hours.

These Books to Follow for CLAT PG

Constitutional Law carries 50 marks out of the 150 marks in the CLAT PG exam. The 50 questions of constitutional law is scattered from all the chapters and parts of Constitution. Some parts like Fundamental Rights, Union & Parliament are focused more in terms of marks/questions than others.

Straight-forward questions are generally the pattern of Question type. We mean to say that one student needs to have to go through books very well to answer the question. Unlike CLAT LLB, Reasoning , Cognitive thinking, current affairs knowledge are not checked in that exam.

But since 2016, there has been a trend that Questions of Constitutional Law also include Recent Supreme Court Judgments. In 2016, there were 4 questions that had come from Recent Supreme Court Judgments and in 2017, that number of question has increased to 5. This trend forces us to think that atleast 4-5 questions will come from Recent Supreme Court Judgments in CLAT PG 2018.

Analysing the questions of 2016 and 2017, it can be said that any important judgment held by the Supreme Court in that span of year becomes the part of the Question paper. In 2016 question paper, the questions included important judgments pronounced during the span of 2015-2016. But interestingly, in 2017 question paper, questions include the important judgments pronounced in 2017 only, not in 2016.

How to Conquer the Constitution!!

For CLAT PG 2018, it can be said that Judgments that will be pronounced by the Supreme Courts in coming months will be really very important for the students appearing for CLAT PG 2018. But, that does not undermine the importance of judgments of 2017. those are important too.
