- What is your Thought on this Year’s Question Paper?
UGC has made new addition to the syllabus. Though, it has extended the scope of the course but the most of the questions were direct and were quite easy to answer. Overall, it was a balanced paper (neither too easy nor too difficult). This time most of the questions were covered from Consti., Juris, IPC, Human Rights, International law, IPR, Family law, as compared to other subjects. One cannot leave out any subject or give less significance to other subjects, every concept provided in UGC NET syllabus must be covered.
- What is your strategy For Paper I?
I solved several previous year question papers for Paper 1. Half of the syllabus is based upon maths and reasoning and I am not very good at maths, so I concentrated on question solving technique. The more you solve questions, you have an idea to attempt the questions and it will increase the scope of scoring more. Nowadays there are several online mock tests, one may take it periodically.

- According to you, when is the perfect time for a student to start the preparation for NTA-NET?
Since, the syllabus is vast therefore atleast 4-5 months of smart study and in last month you have to revise thoroughly the important topics from both the papers. One should make a strategy to cover entire syllabus on time, because anything could be asked in the question paper.
- How did you manage Paper I and Paper II preparation simultaneously?
I focused mainly on Paper II because it is of 200 marks but simultaneously I devoted 1-2 hours each day positively to Paper 1 also. One must not ignore Paper 1, cause they are scoring (especially if you are good at maths, reasoning) and they are easy to understand as well. Both paper have their individual cut off, so one should have a balanced preparation for both papers.
- How did you prepare Subjects like Jurisprudence & Constitution in Paper II (Mention Book Name You Followed)?
Make notes!! Its very important for one to prepare crux notes on basic concepts. Prepare one liners, so that you can easily recapitulate them at the time of revision. Both these subjects require an in depth knowledge so one should thoroughly acquaint himself/herself with each topics given in the syllabus accordingly.
For Constitution, I referred M.P Jain (you may also refer some guide books such as A.K Jain, Universal books). Concentrate on landmark case laws and new ones.
From Jurisprudence any kind of question could be asked. But don’t panic! Just analyse contributions of important jurists and cover entire syllabus. I prepared from Paranjape, its complete in itself.

- What were your approaches for Vast Subjects like International Law and Environmental Law and Human Rights in Paper II (Mention Book Name You Followed)?
Make notes on important organs, with their establishment date for International law. One may also refer UN Charter focussing on purpose. Book I referred for International law and human rights was by Dr. H.O. Agarwal.
One must focus on conferences and few cases in environment law and also on newly added topics. And I prepared it from Universal guide.
- How have you prepared for Other Law Subjects?
One should concentrate on newly made additions to the syllabus, because June 2019 paper was loaded with them. For IPC I will suggest that one must focus on sections with their illustrations. Make focus on every subject and try not to leave any topic.
I studied other law subjects by making a plan of study by firstly covering those topics which were easy to understand, so that interest could be developed. While studying try to write down bullet points.
- What are the mistakes One should avoid while preparing for NTA-NET?
Some students try to read everything, but it usually confuses them. Make smart notes which you can remember at the last moment. One must understand the concepts and need not to mug up every detail.
- Which as per you was the most difficult part of the NTA NET exam? How did you handle that?
There was not any. I tried to make balance between the subjects.
- Do you feel that is there any difference in preparation regarding NTA-NET and NTA-NET JRF?
JRF has high cut-off as compared to NET, so you have to be prepared more for JRF.
- Any message or success tip you want to share for NTA-NET aspirants?
Taking breaks is also important and try to relax yourself. Be confident what you have prepared. Make time-table which you can manage. Have a balanced approach towards your subject preparation. Always try to give your best!
