Being awarded as top most law institution of the country makes NLSIU sought after institution for all, just not for Under Graduate but also for Post-graduation this institution is much in demand. This institution has risen to the top spot among premier institutions of legal education in the country because of the faculties and facilities it provides to the students without any compromise with the quality.
Admission in LLM course is being done through CLAT Exam, conducted in the month of May every year. Coming to the course of NLSIU, NLSIU provides post-graduation in law in two specializations, first being Business Law and second is Human Rights. The total intake is 50 out of which 3:2 ratio is adopted for both the specialization respectively.(Which specialization you get depends on your rank in the CLAT Exam) Moreover, you can also find some foreign students studying along with you(They are all chill). The Couse structure of both the specialization is quite satisfactory. The institution keeps on improving course structure by adding new electives every trimester. Some of the best professors of the university are assigned to LLM students as well. One year LL.M. is undoubtedly hectic and it gets over even before you think it has started but it is, although draining at times, an enriching experience for students.The institution is quite strict about deadlines. You cannot exceed the deadlines otherwise some serious repercussions could be faced by you. Apart from academic runs, many centres are also working in the institution, students can even try for internships during breaks or can even work in those centres after completing their post-graduation.
Coming to the most important part of NLSIU, that is placement. A Recruitment Coordination Committee is formed by the students only and they themselves approach colleges, companies, PSUs, Firms and NGO’s to come down to college for recruitment. Majorly, colleges and universities recruit people for the post of Teaching Assistant or Assistant Professor. Apart from that, some firs and companies also show their interest in that. The RCC body works independently with little interference from the college. Moreover, many-a times the university through different means also helps in getting student placed. Rest things you will get, when you come to this place as everything cannot be expressed in words.
At the end of the day, NLSIU is a great place to be. Students get opportunity to interact with the best legal minds of the country and bestowed with significant exposure. The institution does not compromise with quality and that makes it number one institution of the country. So, just take CLAT (take it seriously, they have changed the syllabus this time) and be the part of this institution.
