CLAT PG 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on December 18, 2022. It means only 9 days are left for the exams. And, by now every student is expected to be well-acquainted with the leave of preparation they have. Some might be in their revision phase and some have just started the preparation 10 days before. What to expect from yourself in these 9 days?
This blog will try strategies for last-minute preparation
for students to help them prepare better.
The only important thing is
revision, revision, revision.
Revision for conceptual clarity
Till the exam is approaching, one must revise, recollect and
have a strong grip on the conceptual clarity of all the subjects. Often a
student gets so engrossed in the revision of case laws that the revision of
basic concepts of law is ignored. As a result, at the examination hall, the
students lose on very simple questions due to lack of revision.
Also, another advantage: At times if a student forgets a
landmark or a recent case, still the passage can be solved because of strong
conceptual clarity, and 2 to 3 marks can be fetched out of a passage of 6
questions each.
Revision of last 3 years recent
cases along with landmark
This would seem to be a huge task. But faith in yourself and
full dedication can make you achieve wonders. The students should not read the
whole judgment.
Here is the modus operandi to revise case laws:
Since live streaming is one of the historic steps. Two cases
are very important, i.e., Swapnil Tripathi v. Union of India (2018) and Naresh
Shridhar Mirajkar v. State of Maharashtra (1966)
The student must read the case brief or summary of the above
two judgments:
- Focus on issue
- Ratio Decidendi
- Finding of the Judgment.
- Extract the sections from the judgment [For Example:Â In Swapnil Tripathi, these sections were mentioned in the judgment) i.e Section 327 of the Code of Criminal Procedure Section 327 of CrPC and Section 153B of CPC (Court to be open; Article 19(1)(a) and Article 21.]
- Read important sections from the bare act.
Hence, everything is connected. If your strategies to revise
concepts, landmarks, and recent ones individually, it will become overwhelming
and difficult to complete.
Revision of mock test
The students who are in the revision phase might have solved
mocks. The next important step in the next 9 days is to revise the solved mock
test. It is not advisable to attend mocks at the last stage since a wrong
answer will create a lot of anxiety.
Hence, the student needs to identify the mistakes committed
in the mock test so that the same mistakes are not committed again.
Do not study new topics
Studying new topics for students is not the best thing at
this point. It is our basic tendency to try to cover everything before the exam
so that nothing is left untouched. But, this mindset will create a problem for
the students i.e in the effort of studying new topics, the concepts of which
might not get better in 9 days, one will forget to revise the important
concepts.
Study and Rest two slides of the
same coin
In the last week of the exam, a student tends to witness
anxiety, stress, and unwanted thoughts. To cope with the stress pertaining to
the exam, the student must be present. One must have a balance of study and
rest. Too much study will drain and exhaust you, and too much rest will create
anxiety for not preparing well.
The student must try to meditate, go for a walk, go to the
gym and do any recreational activities to ease the stress.
Hence, every student preparing to give CLAT PG 2023 in
December must follow the above strategies till the exams. “Read, Recollect
and Revise” must be the mantra for succeeding in the examination. The
student must not bother himself/herself with the result, rather must
concentrate on the revision part.
Attentiveness in the examination hall and a clear mind will
make your task easy to solve all the questions in the paper.
All the best! An attempt is worth more than nothing!
