This is Amartya, a final-year student at National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi.
How did you find the CLAT PG 2024 paper in terms of difficulty and length?
CLAT PG 2024 was a moderate to easy paper. Most of the questions were either doable or guessable. However, the length of the paper made the exam cumbersome. Twenty-four paragraphs, after one point, became painful to read. Some of the lengthy questions and their lengthy options added to the problem. Since every question required enormous focus, the length soon exhausted the reading stamina of many, including myself.
How did you cover 13+ subjects from the syllabus of CLAT PG?
No, I did not cover all the subjects from the CLAT PG syllabus. I covered Constitutional law, Criminal law, International Law, Jurisprudence, and Environment law very thoroughly. My preparation for Contract law, Family law, Property law, and IPR was moderate. I had not prepared much for Labour laws, Company law, Tax law, and other laws.
How did you prepare for recent & landmark judgments?
I learnt the recent judgement from the classes of Jurisedge. Apart from that, I read plenty of online blogs and weekly newsletter.
What would you advise future CLAT PG aspirants?
First, READ A LOT. CLAT switched its format into a reading-based paper. This indicates that before anything else, you are required to read. Second, understand the law and its basic jurisprudence. Mindlessly reading a lot of news and covering hundreds of judgements won’t help. Learn as many concepts as you can. Try relating those concepts to recent events.
How did Jurisedge help you in your preparation journey?
I was provided with plenty of reading and learning material. Plus, a lot of important recent judgements were covered in the live lectures. This helped me gain confidence in my conceptual understanding. Apart from this, constant guidance from the amazing faculty was the sole reason why I was able to get a decent rank despite such minimal effort from my end.
