CLAT PG exam format:

  1. Offline Pen & Paper Based: Unlike some other law entrance exams, CLAT PG remains an offline test. Prepare to answer questions on paper.
  2. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs): The entire CLAT PG question paper will consist of MCQs.
  3. Single Section: Unlike the UG exam with its diverse sections, CLAT PG throws a curveball with a single, comprehensive section.
  4. 120 Questions: Gird yourself for 120 MCQs, each carrying one mark. 
  5. Two-Hour Duration: You’ll have 120 minutes to answer all questions. 
  6. Marking Scheme: Each correct answer fetches you one mark, while there’s negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect attempt. 

Focus on Reading Comprehension:

Comprehension remains pivotal in the CLAT PG Entrance Exam, aligning with recent trends. Candidates delve into passages sourced from primary legal materials, offering insight into landmark cases, statutes, & regulations. Previous CLAT PG Paper Patterns:

Other Major Subjects: These subjects play a significant role in legal practice and are well-represented in the exam. Look out for questions on:

  • Family Law
  • Criminal Law
  • Property Law
  • Company Law

Additional Subjects: CLAT PG might also include questions from these subjects, depending on the weightage given by the consortium in a particular year:

  • Public International Law
  • Tax Law
  • Environmental Law
  • Labour & Industrial Law
